6-day tour of Slovenia

Day 1: Ljubljana
Arrival, transfer from Ljubljana Airport to the hotel in the center of Ljubljana. Rest of the day is at leisure for a stroll or shopping in the old part of Ljubljana.

Ljubljana is a beautiful city with a charming old center and a dazzling hilltop castle with views for miles. The cobbled streets are packed with street cafes and small shops and are always full of people.  Ljubljana has a bustling market and River Ljubljanica running through it, which is perfect for strolls or boat trips. After dark, Ljubljana has enough chic bars, cozy inns with open fires and sophisticated restaurants to keep you entertained.

In Ljubljana, there is a fine selection of small, boutique shops and street markets throughout the year. There are also numerous large suburban shopping centers, where you can get products from renowned international brands, original souvenirs and gift items, interesting creations from Slovenian fashion designers, remarkable fine art pieces and much more. 

Meals: dinner in a restaurant in the city center.

Day 2: Ljubljana, sightseeing and shopping
Admire Ljubljana’s highlights on a 2,5 hour walking tour with a local guide. Visit the Old Town of Ljubljana with its narrow streets, full of small, tempting shops and street cafes. Walk through antient squares, bridges and learn about the local culture and history.

Take the funicular up to Ljubljana Castle and enjoy the view from the Castle hill. At additional cost, visit the Castle Tower.

After lunch (included) you will be transferred to one of the major shopping malls on the outskirts of Ljubljana. The shopping mall is an urban whole and one of the largest shopping, business, recreational and entertainment centers in Europe. There are more than 450 shops offering a wide and varied choice of products from well-known international and local brands.

Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Ljubljana – Karst and Slovenian Coast
Today, you will discover the beautiful Slovenian coast and the Karst region. Your first stop is the medieval Predjama Castle. It is perched high on the cliff close to world famous Postojna Cave. For more than 700 years, the castle has been magnificently guarding its surroundings and the underground cave system just below it.

After the visit, you will enter the amazing underground world. Postojna Cave is the best known Cave in the world and one of the top attractions of Slovenia. You will board the cave train to admire spectacular underground halls, arches, stalactites and other playful limestone sculptures.

After lunch (included) you will continue to the Slovenian Coast. The medieval town of Piran is another jewel of Slovenia. Famous for its Venetian architecture, narrow streets and colorful houses huddled close together, Piran is perched on a tiny piece of land jutting into the sea.

Your hotel is located in the heart of Piran. There will be enough time to explore and for shopping. Along the coast, there are numerous sea food restaurants, dinner in one of them. Overnight in Piran.

Day 4: Slovenian Coast - Bled
Before leaving the beautiful Slovenian Coast, you will stop at the Secovlje Salina Nature Park. Observe the ancient method of salt making from sea water, where all the work is still done manually.

After lunch in a typical Slovenian homestead with wine tasting you will visit another Slovenian highlight, Lipica Stud Farm. Lipica is the oldest European stud farm continuously breeding one of the oldest cultural horse breeds. As such it has a remarkable significance as a cultural, historical and natural heritage for Slovenia and Europe. Visit the museum and take a carriage ride through green pastures and tree lined avenues.

Transfer to Bled, dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Bled
Full day to explore world famous Bled Lake and the surrounding area. Bled is one of the most scenic tourist places in Slovenia. On the smooth surface of the lake, you can admire the reflection of snowy alpine peaks. In the middle of the lake, you will find a charming little island, the only island in Slovenia. It is only big enough for a small church that has been guarding the island for centuries.

The oldest Slovenian castle stands on the mighty rocky wall 130 meters above the picturesque lake Bled. From the castle, you will enjoy the unforgettable view of the mountains and the lake with a charming little island and an old church in the middle of the lake. You will visit the castle the old fashioned way – with the carriage.

Bled castle has first been mentioned in 1004. Today, it hosts a museum, a wedding hall and a restaurant.

After lunch in one of the numerous restaurants (included), you will board a traditional boat, called pletna. The boat tour will take you pass Tito’s Villa and to the charming little island in the middle of the Lake Bled.

Overnight in Bled.

Transfer to the airport, end of services.
